Il coronavirus non si ferma e dilaga in tutto il mondo. Riguardo al calcio, uno dei campionati più colpiti è sicuramente la Premier League. Sono già molti i match rinviati a causa delle numerose positività all’interno delle società e l’ultimo di questi è stato Leeds–Aston Villa, in programma martedì 28 dicembre. La partita sarà recuperata a data da destinarsi e non verrà disputata nel giorno stabilito precedentemente a causa dei nuovi casi emersi nel gruppo squadra allenato da Marcelo Bielsa.

Problemi anche nel Boxing Day
Il campionato inglese è famoso anche per il ‘Boxing Day’ (26 dicembre), giorno in cui solo in Inghilterra le squadre scendono regolarmente in campo. A causa del coronavirus però già ben tre partite sono state annullate (Liverpool–Leeds, Wolverhampton–Watford e Burnley–Everton). Le altre società disputeranno comunque il diciannovesimo turno di Premier League, ma devono fare i conti con alcune positività. Ad esempio il Crystal Palace, che sfiderà il Tottenham, non sarà condotto dal proprio allenatore, Patrick Vieira, risultato positivo dopo aver effettuato l’ultimo tampone.

Problemi anche nell’Arsenal, infatti, nonostante la sfida contro il Norwich si giocherà regolarmente, Mikel Arteta dovrà fare a meno di tre calciatori, ovvero Cedric, Tomiyasu e Maitland-Niles.
